The 11th International ESD Forum was held

The 11th International ESD Forum was held on December 21, 2023.
This forum was initiated by the Faculty of Education at Shizuoka University together with partner universities, and has been held annually as one of the consortium projects since 2021 when Shizuoka University and five universities from Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia, established the “JPTI6 Sustainable Development Consortium (JPTI6 SDC)”.
Since its establishment in 2021, the Organization for International Collaboration and the Center for Promotion of Sustainability have served as the contact point for JPTI6 SDC.

The 11th Forum, hosted by Shizuoka University, had its focus on "Integrating and Advancing Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) to Achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development".

The keynote speakers were Prof. SUGIMURA Miki (Faculty of Human Sciences, Sophia University, Japan) and Dr. Eleni PETRAKI (Associate Professor, Faculty of Education, University of Canberra, Australia), who each spoke on "The Development of Education for Sustainable Development and the Role of International Higher Education" and "Approaches to Second Language Curriculum Design for Sustainability”: both discussed the role that education and educational institutions should play in promoting the SDGs.

In the four parallel sessions, presentations on research/policy/projects were made by each university, and the followings were made by Shizuoka University.
Each session ended with a lively question-and-answer session.
